# Deleting your account

> How to export your data and permanently delete your Kredz account and everything in it.

You can permanently delete your Kredz account at any time, from right inside the
app. Deletion is final, so it's worth exporting a copy of your data first.

## Export your data first

Before you delete anything, you can download a copy of your family's data — your
children, rules, balances, and full transaction history.

    Go to **Settings** in the web or mobile app.

    Choose **Export my data**. Kredz prepares a copy you can download and keep.

<Tip>
  Exporting is a good idea even if you're only switching devices — it's your
  family's record to keep.

## Delete your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open settings">
    Go to **Settings → Account**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Delete account">
    Select **Delete account** and confirm. You may be asked to re-enter your
    password.
  </Step>

  <Step title="It's permanent">
    Your account and your family's data are deleted.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Deleting your account is **permanent and cannot be undone**. It removes your
  sign-in and cascades to your family's profiles, rules, balances, and the entire
  transaction history. Export anything you want to keep first.

## What gets deleted

* Your sign-in (the auth account)
* Your family and its children
* All rules
* All balances and the complete transaction history

## A note on subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't automatically cancel a subscription billed by
Apple. If you subscribed on an Apple device, also cancel through
**Settings → Subscriptions** on your iPhone or iPad. See
